Skatepark Resi

I encourage everyone in the Southern California area to check out the New Venture Skatepark!  I had the pleasure of seeing their Andy’s Yard resi in person on a recent trip out West.  The staff and riders there are very friendly.  You’ll be missing out if you don’t make a visit to New Venture!

The Resi Ramp is the perfect ramp for riders or skaters who want to try big tricks and land safely or fall without receiving a major injury.  The structure of the ramp is made from wood.  On top of the wood is about a foot of foam or padding.  The top layer of the ramp is the plastic composite referred to as “resi”.  Foam is used underneath the plastic composite to help cushion the falls and absorb impact.  To help save money, I used a couple of old mattresses instead of foam for my ramp and it works just as good.  The plastic composite on top is infused with carbon atoms which helps prevent wear from the sun.  These carbon atoms are what basically makes the material black in color.  Below are some photos of my resi being put together for the first time.

What are the dimensions of you ramp? Want to make my resi landing the same size as yours! and how much would it cost to build one like yours? Thanks, Nice Videos btw!

    • andybmx19's avatar andybmx19 says:

Hey Carter, thanks for contacting me and checking out my vids! The dimensions of my box are 5ft wide, 4.5ft tall with a 7.5ft radius. The resi landing is 10ft wide. The total length of my resi is 25ft x 10ft x 1/4inch (all 25ft are used, trust me haha). I’ve rolled away from crashes and landed on wood a few times. If you’re still interested in purchasing some resi, email me at andysyard@yahoo.com to discuss pricing and shipping details. The total cost really depends on how much you get and the shipping should be factored in because it can cost a little over $100 just for shipping unfortunately. The foam I use right now is a mix of high density foam pieces, and mattresses. When I created my first resi, which is pictured on my website, I used old mattresses to save money. Any high density foam will work though. And mattresses actually work really well. Thats primarily the reason why I still use them. It makes the landing slightly softer, which I personally like. I’m more than happy to help you out! Just let me know if you have any other questions. Please email me if possible. I check my email often and its easier to communicate back and forth. Thanks Carter.

    • andybmx19's avatar andybmx19 says:

Hey Jack, it really depends on how much your interested in buying. I use a price curve to make the larger amount more affordable for people. If you’d like, send me an email at AndysYard@yahoo.com to discuss exactly what your looking for. If you have the dimensions of the jump but aren’t sure how much material to buy, I can help you with that as well. Thanks Jack.

Hey Andy, I work for a city-run bike park that opened in Arkansas, and I’m trying to convince them to put a resi out here. What would 10’x25’x1/4″ sheet cost? Also, would you know where to get the foam pad for underneath? If it was my backyard is be all about the mattresses, but since it’s a city park I want it to be as professional looking as possible. If you could email me back I sure would appreciate it
